About us:

The Department of English and American Studies offers a broad range of courses including BA and MA degrees as well as teaching degrees for all school types. The development of our students’ language skills and of their (inter-)cultural knowledge is an integral part of all these degree courses. We are looking for a teacher of English (LektorIn) to join our English Language Teaching team.

We are looking for you:

Lektor (m/f/x)

in Munich

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • teaching English language classes (B2-C2)
  • a teaching load of 18 teaching hours per week (1 teaching hour = 45 mins)
  • developing teaching materials for existing and new courses
  • developing and carrying out examinations for all degree courses.

Your qualifications:

You are able to provide evidence of

  • a teaching qualification, preferably in TEFL/TESOL
  • a good university degree in a relevant discipline
  • a minimum 3 years’ teaching experience (TEFL/TESOL)
  • preferably good competence in German and experience with German learners of English
  • native-speaker standard of English.

Benefits:

We are offering a contract of 23 months’ duration (non-renewable) in a highly motivated team. Your workplace is in the centre of Munich and is easily accessible by public transport. Salary is determined by the German Civil Service Regulations (Tarifvertrag der Länder: TV-L) and will be offered at TV-L 13 depending on qualifications and experience.

Also possible in a part-time capacity.
