Full Professorship (W3) of Greek Philology with a Focus on Literary Studies (Chair)

The Faculty of Languages and Literatures invites applications for a Full Professorship (W3) of Greek Philology with a Focus on Literary Studies (Chair) commencing on 1 April 2024.

The candidate is expected to demonstrate a broad competence in Greek Philology in research as well as teaching with an orientation towards literary studies and in cooperation with the complementary Chair of Greek Philology. A focus on one of the central areas of Greek literature is required. Familiarity with modern literary theory is expected, as well as openness to questions of cultural studies and reception history. Experience in interdisciplinary cooperation and willingness to participate in collaborative projects within the faculty and beyond are also expected. Associated with the professorship is the management of the German office of the international bibliography project L' Année philologique.

Prerequisites for this position are a university degree, a doctoral degree or a comparable specific qualification, teaching skills at university level, excellent academic achievements and a productive and promising research program.
