About us:

In addition to training future veterinarians in the field of general and special pharmacology as well as drug prescription, our chair contributes to the development of optimized therapeutic approaches for neurological diseases in veterinary and human medicine. Furthermore, we are partners in a national DFG-funded research consortium "Severity Assessment in Animal-Based Research", which aims to identify sensitive and objective parameters for assessing well-being and severity in laboratory animals. In accordance with the 3R principle (replace, reduce, refine), possible refinement approaches are investigated and validated by applying suitable parameters. We need your support to carry out a systematic review on the perioperative use of the analgesic buprenorphine in laboratory rodents.

We are looking for you:

Student Assistant (m/f/x)

in Munich

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Participation in conduction a systematic review
  • Screening scientific publications for keywords
  • Extracting relevant information from scientific publications
  • Possibly, further participation in the evaluation or processing of data

Your qualifications:

  • Student of veterinary medicine (Physikum or higher) or student in the Master's program at the Graduate School of Systemic Neurosciences
  • Experience in reading scientific publications, literature search in respective databases (e.g. PubMed) and contributing to a systematic review is an advantage, but not a presupposition
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Good knowledge of German and English
  • Careful, reliable and independent work with data sets
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Interest in refinement in animal-based research is desirable.

You will gain in-depth knowledge or deepen your existing knowledge of conducting systematic reviews, meta-analyses and general scientific working methods.

Your collaboration will be considered with a co-authorship on the planned publication. Furthermore, your work on this project can be credited towards a future doctoral thesis at our chair.

A large part of your work can be done flexibly from mobile office. We attach great importance to intensive training and regular exchange with responsible co-workers for the project.

The salary is determined by experience according to the pay scale for assistants F207 of LMU.
