The Geochemistry group at LMU Munich specializes in igneous processes operating across the Earth lithosphere. Formation of CO2-rich magmatism, chemical melt differentiation and magma-rock interaction dynamics are investigated through high-pressure / high-temperature experimentation and computational petrology.

The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at LMU Munich invites applications for one PhD position in Experimental Geochemistry / Petrology. The project is funded by DFG as part of the International Continental Scientific Drilling Program “DIVE” (drilling the Ivrea-Verbano zone).

This project will be supervised by Prof. Dr. Daniel Weidendorfer and is funded by DFG (75% TV-L-13) for a fixed time period of 3 years with a probation period of 6 months.
