The professorship will be located at the Department of Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery, University Hospital of LMU Munich.

In research and teaching, the professorship will focus on questions of health care research in musculoskeletal diseases, especially using registries and biodatabases. In order to benefit from the large number of cases, a close cooperation between the University Hospital Munich (Clinic for Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery, Musculoskeletal University Center Munich - MUM) and the Schön Clinic Munich Harlaching is planned. Organizationally, the professorship at LMU Munich is located at the Clinic for Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery. A special focus of the professorship is the analysis of modern surgical methods and novel medical techniques. Young scientists from the participating clinics/institutions are to be stimulated and involved in their own work in this attractive scientific field (e.g. clinician scientist rotation).

Profound knowledge in statistical, bioinformatic and epidemiological methods as well as experience in health services research is required. Knowledge and experience in registry and clinical trials are desirable. Close cooperation with national registries such as the Trauma Registry, the Aging Trauma Registry and the Endoprosthesis Registry Germany (EPRD) is planned. For the professorship we are looking for a cooperative, interdisciplinary thinking and acting personality with the competence to successfully lead a cross-location team.
