The Faculty of Medicine invites applications for a
Professorship (W2) (5 years/tenure track) of
Precision Medicine of Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Diseases
(Heisenberg Professorship, German Research Foundation/DFG)
commencing as soon as possible.
The professorship is located at the Department of Pediatrics of the LMU Klinikum and represents the field of Precision Medicine of Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Diseases in research, teaching and clinics. The applicant should have outstanding academic expertise and should strengthen pediatric research with a focus on mucosal immunology and translational systems immunology at the Department of Pediatrics.
LMU Munich seeks to appoint a highly qualified junior academic to this professorship and, therefore, especially encourages early-career scholars to apply. Prerequisites for this position are a university degree, a doctoral degree or a comparable specific qualification and a board certification in Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine. With an excellent record in research and teaching to date, prospective candidates will have demonstrated the potential for an outstanding academic career.
This professorship is financed through the Heisenberg program of the German Research Foundation (DFG) for a period of five years. After approval of the Heisenberg Professorship by the German Research Foundation (DFG) the initial appointment will be for a period of five years. After a minimum of three years, it can be converted into a permanent position pending a positive evaluation of the candidate’s performance in research and teaching as well as his or her personal aptitude and if all legal conditions are met.
