The department of Statistics at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München has a vacancy for a postdoctoral position in statistics and data science at the Chair of Applied Statistics in Social Sciences, Economics and Business. The team works on applied statistics in the field of Economics, Business Administration, Social and Political Sciences. Our research interests lie in the field of statistical network data analyses, data driven conflict and peace research, statistical modelling and quantification of uncertainty in machine learning
We are looking for you:
in Munich
The successful candidate will conduct independent research in the field of data science and statistics, e.g. analysis of network data or uncertainty in machine learning. You will teach five hours per week, mainly in the elite master's program in Data Science, and participate in academic self-administration.
You have an excellent doctorate in statistics or data science, very good analytical skills, a high level of commitment, very good knowledge of English, the ability to work in a team and an independent approach to work.
We offer you an interesting and responsible position. Your workplace is centrally located in Munich and is easily accessible by public transport.
The position is strictly limited in time from 15 April 2026 to 30 September 2026. Remuneration will be made, according to the relevant qualifications, on TV-L E14.
Also possible in a part-time capacity.
