The Max von Pettenkofer Institute - Chair of Medical Microbiology and Hospital Epidemiology - of the LMU invites applications for a position as a Postdoctoral scientist TV-L E13 (100%) available from now on.

The successful postdoctoral researcher will contribute to third-party funded projects involving the characterization of host-pathogen interaction, bacterial sensing, regulation and signalling, and genomics of pathogenic Epsilon proteobacteria, in the laboratory of Prof. Christine Josenhans at Max von Pettenkofer-Institute, Munich.
Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in the life sciences with a focus on pathogenic bacteria, signal transduction, or pathogen and host interaction/(innate) immunity. Additional or alternative skills with bacterial genomics/whole cell transcriptome analyses or infection models (wet-lab, dry-lab) will be highly appreciated. You are a highly motivated candidate with excellent communication proficiency and teamworking abilities. Documented experimental experience and a publication track-record in the field of cell biology and molecular biology, and experience in handling pathogenic bacteria are required. Some knowledge in bioinformatics (R, Matlab, Python) is advantageous.
