Professorship (W3) of European Art of the 18th to 20th centuries and its global interconnections (Chair)

In view of a rapidly changing discipline that has expanded to include global perspectives and is committed to current challenges, the professorship should represent European and North American art history of the 18th to 20th centuries in teaching and research in an innovative and internationally visible manner. The candidate is expected to intensively engage with the resulting range of media and methods involved and to be enthusiastic about communicating this in all teaching formats. It is also important to participate in collaborative research projects and to take the lead in acquiring third-party funding. The position entails central functions and responsibility in the university's self-administration. It would be desirable if the future holder of the professorship also had a specific interest in digital humanities and digital art history/digital visual cultures. Prerequisites for this position are a university degree, a doctoral degree or a comparable specific qualification, teaching skills at university level, excellent academic achievements and a productive and promising research program.
