The applicant will join the team of Professor Sebastian Suerbaum at Max von Pettenkofer Institute of LMU Munich. The group uses a combination of genetic, genomic and biochemical approaches to study the population biology, evolution and pathogenesis of gastrointestinal infections with a special focus on the carcinogenic gastric pathogen Helicobacter pylori.
The position is initially limited to two years, with a perspective of prolongation. Applicants must have completed their studies in life sciences with a doctoral degree. Furthermore, we expect applicants to be highly motivated, to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and to like working in a team. Preference will be given to candidates with documented experimental skills in the area of molecular microbiology and experience in handling pathogenic bacteria.
