About us:

The Chair of Political Systems and European Integration conducts research on various topics. One focus is the Europeanization of the German political system, Germany’s role in Europe and party competition in multi-level systems. In this context, we investigate both political science and administrative science aspects with a special focus on different time rules and time preferences of governments, parliaments, and administrations. In addition, we specifically analyze various policy fields that have become increasingly important at the European level over time: Health, Migration, Sport, Environment, and Energy. Furthermore, we focus on the local and regional level and examine election campaigns, coalition formations, and parliamentary behavior.
