The Ludwig Maximilian University Munich (LMU) seeks a scientific coordinator for its new Munich Center for Geoastronomy, which is an interdisciplinary collaboration between the Faculty of Physics and the Faculty of Geosciences. Its mission is to unify the principles of astrophysics and the geosciences and generalise them towards understanding planets beyond our Solar System (exoplanets). The Center hosts various research and education programs, including a joint seminar series between astrophysicists and geoscientists, a Master’s program specialising in exoplanet science and an annual summer school for exoplanet science. The Center is located by the Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences (Theresienstrasse 41).

You will be paid according to the TV-L salary scale up to salary group 13 (TV-L E13), depending on your professional qualifications. The position is offered at 60-80% working time on a case-by-case basis. The position is initially available for three (plus two) years with the possibility of a further extension as the Center develops and matures.
