The research group International Relations & Global Governance (Prof. Berthold Rittberger & Prof. Bernhard Zangl) at the Geschwister-Scholl-Institute of Political Science at the Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich (LMU) is advertising with a start date of 1st April, 2023 the position of a pre-doctoral researcher in International Relations (65% part time, TV-L E13).

We are looking for you:

Pre-Doctoral researcher (m/f/x)

in Munich

Your tasks and responsibilities:

• Carrying out your own doctoral project, with a focus on international institutions (especially the European Union) that ideally relates to the main research interests of the research group.
• Participation in joint research projects and activities.
• Teaching 3.25 ‘semester hours’ (3 seminars per academic year).
• Support the research group in tasks of academic self-government.

Your qualifications:

• You have obtained an excellent Master-degree in Political Science.
• You have a distinct interest in the scientific study of international relations in general and international institutions (especially the European Union) in specific.
• You have a very good understanding of qualitative and/or quantitative research methods.
• You are highly motivated to carry out your own research whilst contributing to a dedicated team.

Benefits:

• Pay is based on TV-L ‚Entgeltgruppe’ E13. For pre-doctoral fellows the position will be filled as a part-time position (65%, 26.065 hours per week).
• The successful applicant is expected to start on 1st April, 2023 for an initial period of three years.
