About us:

We study the circadian clock in bacteria. We have funding from the European Research Council to discover molecular components of the clock in Bacillus subtilis, a common soil bacterium. We are a small team operating as part of an international consortium. We are based within the inner city campus of the medical faculty.

We are looking for you:

Technical assistant / laboratory assistant (m/f/x)

in Munich

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Microbiological cultivation, including preparation of culture media and management of frozen stock collections of bacterial strains
  • DNA extractions and PCR
  • Documentation and analysis of data
  • Common laboratory support activities such as preparing stock solutions as well as filling orders for supplies
  • Providing technical support for PostDoctoral scientists.

Your qualifications:

  • Trained as a laboratory assistant, MTA, CTA, BTA or similar
  • Practical knowledge of molecular biology and microbiology methods
  • Willingness to learn new methodologies
  • Familiarity with basic computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Someone who enjoys teamwork
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Basic knowledge of English in order to work in a highly international collaborative team.
