About us:

The new project Rudolf Carnap Digital (RCD) at the Munich Center for Mathematical Philosophy (MCMP) is a long-term project funded by The Union of the German Academies of Sciences and Humanities. The project aims to develop a comprehensive digital edition of the works of the German-American philosopher Rudolf Carnap, using the archive and edition management tool VALEP. Parts of the digital edition will also be published in print by Oxford University Press and Meiner Verlag Hamburg. The project will begin in 2026, and the initial tasks will include the creation of a facsimile edition (scans plus metadata) as well as the preparation of individual texts for the edition using LaTeX (text entry, formatting, and creation of indexes).

We are looking for you:

Student Assistant (m/f/x)

in Munich

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Assistance with creating scans and capturing metadata for the facsimile edition
  • Editing individual texts in the edition using LaTeX

Your qualifications:

  • High degree of independence, attention to detail, and reliability
  • Willingness to work with the VALEP online tool
  • Good knowledge of German and/or English
  • Desirable: Knowledge of LaTeX, knowledge of mathematical logic
