Postdoctoral Researcher in Machine Learning (m/f/x)

in Munich

Your tasks and responsibilities:

We are looking for you as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Machine Learning (m/f/d).

Your responsibilities include:

  • Conducting research in one or more areas of unsupervised learning (partitioning and non-partitioning clustering, anomaly and outlier detection), machine learning with limited labeled data (active learning, semi-supervised learning), AutoML and meta-learning, stream mining and online learning, deep learning technology, explainable AI.
  • Co-supervising doctoral students in these fields.
  • Publishing research results in relevant peer-reviewed conference proceedings and journals.
  • Contributing to the teaching activities of the department.
  • Contributing to the acquisition of future research projects.
  • Participating in further scientific service tasks in the department and in the MCML.

Your qualifications:

  • Excellent or upcoming doctoral degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related research fields.
  • Experience in one or more areas mentioned in the above.
  • Publications in leading specialized journals or conferences in the area of Machine Learning, Data Mining, or related fields.
  • Experience in supervising student research projects.
  • Good communication skills, fluent in English, and ideally knowledgeable in German.

Your workplace is centrally located at the English Garden in Munich and is easily accessible by public transportation. The salary is based on the German TV-L scale, up to remuneration group TV-L E14, depending on the fulfillment of requirements. The position is limited to 3 years, with the possibility of extension.
