Professorship (W2) (6 years/tenure track) of Dermatology and Venerology with Focus on Inflammatory Skin Disease

The Faculty of Medicine invites applications for a Professorship (W2) (6 years/tenure track) of Dermatology and Venerology with Focus on Inflammatory Skin Disease commencing as soon as possible.

The professorship will be located at the Department of Dermatology and Allergology, University Hospital of LMU Munich.

LMU Munich seeks to appoint a highly qualified junior academic to this professorship and, therefore, especially encourages early-career scholars to apply. Prerequisites for this position are a university degree, a doctoral degree or a comparable specific qualification and a board certification in Dermatology. With an excellent record in research and teaching to date, prospective candidates will have demonstrated the potential for an outstanding academic career.

The successful candidate should represent the field of inflammatory skin diseases in research, teaching and clinical practice with national and international visibility. Associated with the professorship is the management of the clinical Division of inflammatory skin diseases in the Department of Dermatology and Allergology. We are looking for a person with an independent research profile, proven expertise in science and clinical-translational research with profound clinical experience in the treatment of inflammatory skin diseases.

The initial appointment will be for six years. After a minimum of three years, it can be converted into a permanent position pending a positive evaluation of the candidate’s performance in research and teaching as well as his or her personal aptitude and if all legal conditions are met.
