The Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, Department of Education and Rehabilitation, invites applications for a
Full Professorship (W3) of Special Education (Focus on Social-emotional Development and Autism incl. Inclusive Education) (Chair)
commencing as soon as possible.
The future incumbent should represent the professorship in the entire breadth of research and teaching. One of the main tasks is to represent the subject field Special Education and the special field "Pedagogy for Behavioural Disorders“ (focus on social-emotional development) and the special field „Pedagogy for Autism-Spectrum-Disorders“ comprising inclusive pedagogy.
The candidate is expected to be actively involved in the delivery of degree courses in teacher training for special education as well as mentoring practical training at schools and the training of tutors (practical teachers) in the teacher training course for special education teachers. The research is to be specifically focused on innovative approaches to special and inclusive education with a focus on social-emotional development and a focus on Autism, inclusive teaching, special education teaching concepts, special education diagnostics, school development, preparation and transition from school into vocational training and work as well as taking into consideration the principles of inclusion, participation and anti-discrimination in school (research on prevention, inclusion and on rehabilitation) to be anchored within teacher training.
Prerequisites for this position are a university degree in Special Education, a doctoral degree or a comparable specific qualification, teaching skills at university level, excellent academic achievements and a productive and promising research program. In addition, the successful candidate should have a teaching qualification in Special Education and at least three years’ experience in practical teaching in a school or an equivalent educational institution. Experience in acquiring external funding is expected.
