The Department of Veterinary Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, invites applications for a Professorship (W2) of Translational and Clinical Pharmacology commencing on October 1st, 2026.
The professorship will represent the field of Translational and Clinical Pharmacology in teaching, research, and services. The application-oriented research activities should contribute to the characterization of current challenges in veterinary pharmacotherapy and to the development of innovative concepts for therapeutic management. Participation in the Faculty's research priorities and interdisciplinary cooperation with the relevant scientific institutions within and outside the Faculty is expected, with the aim of strengthening the focus on One-Health and Translational Medicine at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The professorship represents the subject of pharmaceutical law and contributes to teaching in the subject of pharmacology and toxicology.
LMU Munich seeks to appoint a highly qualified junior academic to this professorship and, therefore, especially encourages early-career scholars to apply. Prerequisites for this position are a university degree in veterinary medicine, a doctoral degree or a comparable specific qualification. With an excellent record in research and teaching to date, prospective candidates will have demonstrated the potential for an outstanding academic career. A specialist certificate in veterinary pharmacology and toxicology or a comparable qualification is mandatory.
