The Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Statistics invites applications for a
Interim Professorship (W2) of Applied Mathematics
commencing 1st October 2026 and finishing 30th September 2031. Research focus of the professorship is on financial and insurance mathematics. Teaching duties of the position are in the study programs in Mathematics and in Financial and Insurance Mathematics.
LMU Munich seeks to appoint a highly qualified junior academic to this professorship and, therefore, especially encourages early-career scholars to apply. Prerequisites for this position are a university degree and a doctoral degree or a comparable specific qualification. With an excellent record in research and teaching to date, prospective candidates will have demonstrated the potential for an outstanding academic career.
The employment will be based on a private-law service contract. The remuration will be determined according to the basic salary of pay grade W2. Performance bonuses within the meaning of Art. 69 (1) BayBesG will not be granted.
