About us:

The Department of Veterinary Sciences, Chair for Experimental Parasitology established a centralized Imaging Platform that aims to provide service and support for the research approaches with a wide portfolio of technologies, specialized teams and state-of-the-art equipment.

Your workplace will be in the newly built and ultra-modern Centre for Infectious Diseases at the new Veterinary Campus Oberschleißheim and at the chair for Experimental Parasitology currently localized in Martinsried, close to the Munich Biomedical Center and the LMU Biocenter.

Advanced Imaging Technologist (m/f/x)

Your tasks and responsibilities:

We are seeking an outstanding leader in innovative optical imaging technologies to establish and expand imaging technologies that are of interest within the faculty of veterinary medicine and beyond.

The tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Implementation, maintenance and access provision to state-of-the-art imaging systems for the wide range of optical imaging applications as a service to research groups
  • Technology adoption and development according to the needs of research groups
  • Design and offer of training and education in imaging technologies in the framework of the faculties activities
  • Establishment and expansion of collaboration with academic institutions and academic networks
  • Experience with biophysical approaches for force and single-molecule measurement
  • Collaboration with technology providers & companies
  • Communication and publishing technology innovations and applications

Your qualifications:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in cell biology, biophysics, imaging or a related discipline, with minimally 2 years of relevant work experience. Applications from experienced postdocs are encouraged
  • Experience in Veterinary Sciences
  • Outstanding experimental skills in cell biology, biophysics and imaging
  • Very good experience with extensive image analysis
  • Excellent written and oral proficiency in English
  • Ability and enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment
  • You are a team player, but also able to work independently
  • You take initiative and have a strong interest in academic research
